The SL and HL levels in Visual Arts IB
Visual arts are offered at both the Intermediate and Advanced levels, with significant differences. Intermediate students produce 11 process portfolios and between 4 and 7 pieces for exhibitions, while Advanced students produce 13 portfolios, in addition to 8 to 11 pieces for exhibitions. The latter requires a more in-depth, rigorous comparative study and greater conceptual critical thinking in the exhibition work, allowing students to better express their ideas and intentions.
