Why do you struggle with the English Language IB Internal Assessment?
Many students possess strong reading and writing skills, but that’s not enough for the Internal Oral Assessment. The transition from textbook exercises to fluid, real-time conversation is difficult, and anxiety often hinders performance. But we can help you with some of the hurdles that prevent students from achieving a Level 7, like:
“Running out of things to say about the visual stimulus.” For Standard Level students, the IA begins with describing a photograph. A common mistake is just listing visual details (“there is a man”) without interpreting the context or the Anglophone culture represented. We help you investigate, so you are able to describe and identify elements of the Anglophone culture and context.
“Panicking and forgetting advanced vocabulary.” Under pressure, students often revert to “safe,” basic English, but this limits their score in Criterion A (Language). We help you practice your oral presentation and use advanced vocabulary regularly so its included in your personal dictionary.
“Pronunciation getting in the way of clarity.” You may know the grammar perfectly, but if your intonation is flat or your pronunciation is unclear, the examiner will struggle to understand you. So. we’ll help you practice and improve your pacing and pronuntiation.
“Not predicting the General Conversation questions.” The final part of the oral is unpredictable. Students often memorize scripts for the presentation but struggle to maintain a natural dialogue during the discussion. Our tutors will help you polish the necessary skills to argue naturally.
This is what the Language and Literature IA Requires
The Individual Oral changes in structure and content according to your level, but overall, it keeps three core components. You’ll be required to give a 15 minutes presentation based on a visual stimulus and to link it to one of the prescribed course themes; which is later followed by both a follow up discussion, and a general conversation with the examiner. They all need specialized preparation, thus, you’ll need guidance from qualified professionals. Our team is comprised of English language instructors and examiners who understand the nuance of the English B Internal Assessment. They’ll help you prepare and sharpen your skills so your presentation can get full points in the following criteria:

Language (12 points)
This includes the range of your vocabulary, accuracy of grammar, and clarity of pronunciation and intonation.

Message β Visual/Extract (6 points)
How well do you describe and interpret the stimulus? Can you link the image or text to the target culture?

Message β Conversation (6 points)
Are your ideas relevant and developed? Do you provide detailed personal engagement during the General Conversation?

Interactive Skills (6 points)
This measures your ability to respond to questions, clarify meaning, and keep the dialogue flowing naturally.
